Seven Eldest

About the Comic

"7 Eldest" is a fantasy about the creation or birth of a new world. The seven lead characters are the first seven sentient beings born on the planet Ovath, they are called "The Eldest". It is their duty to care for the world and its inhabitants. The comic will be three "books" long detailing the beginnings of civilization on this new planet.

In Case You Were Wondering...because no one has really asked any questions about this comic.

. Where does this comic take place?
The name of the world is Ovath. It's a world protected in an egg shell so to speak waiting to be born. Ovath is pretty much an alternative Earth.

. What creatures are the 7 Eldest?
They are a sentient beings of this planet, called the Malak. They are human like with bird features. Males are known as "malaki" and Females as "malaka". All other creatures on the planet are basically animals from Earth. Why? To be honest I did not feel it important to the story I want to tell to make things overly complicated.

. What is this comic rated?
Seven Eldest will not be completely "work safe" or "school safe". There will be violence, nudity (lots of it), and suggestive themes. Rated Web 14

. Who are the "children"?
This is merely a term used by the Eldest to refer to malak that are not Eldest. When they say "my children" or "your children" they do not mean biological children. The world gave birth to them so to speak and the Eldest provide care, which is why the term sticks. The malak can not currently reproduce.

. Is there significance to the Eldest's names? Piety and Wisdom and so on?
Absolutely. I've named the 7 Eldest after the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I tried to work some aspect of each gift into their personality or role in the story. For example, Piety is the ability to worship God. He has a role as a priest in this world. Outside of that I just think they're pretty names.

. Is this a Christian Comic?
Not intentionally. It does involve "God", but it does not promote any specific religion. The characters themselves are religious beings. I myself am Christian (Catholic) so my stories tend to have influence from my faith.

. Is this comic about Creationism?
This comic is not to promote any kind of "-ism" intentionally. It is a creation MYTH that I created. Most of my influence for this story literally came from eating a hard-boiled egg with lots of influence from C.S. Lewis' "Perelandra" and "The Magician's Nephew". (Both are creation stories by C.S. Lewis).

. What is the timeline for this story?
The first "book" happens early in the creation. The Eldest were born into the bodies of children. While other malak are born into the body of infants. (Hint: Look at the general age of the Children to get a sense of time.) The first book could be considered a few "years" after the initial creation of the world.
Book two will take place later and book three later than that. I'm being vague on purpose.
